Indie Comix Fest

Indie Comix Fest

10 am- 7 pm, 18th November 2018

Entry is free. Open to all.

After successfully being held in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru last year, The Indie Comix Fest is back with its 3rd edition and Kochi, Goa, Kolkata and Pune have been added as venues for this edition. The seven-city Indie Comix Fest is a platform that gives comix artists access to a direct market where they keep 100% of what they make. For the reader it’s an opportunity to discover fresh content, original voices and authentic stories. It disrupts the existing ecosystem of comics production + consumption and offers both artists and readers a dynamic creative experience that cuts the clutter and talks only comix.

The Indie Comix Fest will be holding its first festival in Pune, a Sunday full of comics and workshops on how to make comics. The event is a contemporary cultural melting pot with over 15 comic book artists, writers, illustrators and self-publishing labels displaying their wares.

Anthologies, serialised floppies, hand-pressed zines, fold-out comics, screen-printed comics, posters, and a ton of other self-published content will be seen at the fest. Participants include Amit Kaikini, Bharath Murthy, Chaitanya Modak, Exoticdirtbag, Kiran Prakasji, Pankaj Naik, Pratik K Dhruve, Rahul Bhandare, Raviraj Naik, Rutuja Janhavi, Sahil Upalekar, Samidha Gunjal, Sharda Jadhav, Shoubhik Ghosh, Sumit Kumar, Vikram Patwardhan, and Vinay Brahmania.

About the Indie Comix Fest:
The Indie Comix Fest was put together by Bharath Murthy, Aniceto Pereira, Kailash Iyer and Chaitanya Modak, as a platform for the celebration of self-published comics. The Indie Comix Fest, organised together with a bunch of volunteers on a non-profit basis, hopes to bring artist and reader together to share and showcase comics as a genuine form of popular cultural expression.
